Digidesign continues to expand and improve its groundbreaking D-Show® software, introducing hardware support for the new VENUE Mix Rack, which offers integrated audio I/O and DSP processing in one compact rack, and several new software enhancements that will benefit all VENUE users.

New Mix Rack Support — Same D-Show Familiarity
D-Show 2.7 software has been expanded to provide full support for the latest VENUE family member, Mix Rack, while maintaining the same ease of use and utmost reliability VENUE users have come to know. While new users will appreciate D-Show 2.7 software’s intuitiveness, efficiency, and creative empowerment, those familiar with previous versions won’t need to re-learn or adapt their workflows to the new platform.

Full Show File Compatibility
Because D-Show software is common to all VENUE systems, you can easily create show files on one VENUE system and load it onto any other system running D-Show 2.x software — regardless of the hardware configuration — for complete show file portability. D-Show software intelligently adapts any settings discrepancies to fit the existing hardware as best as possible.

Faster Cue Workflow for Monitor Mixers
For monitor mixers, D-Show 2.7 introduces a new key feature — AFL Follows Auxes — that provides an entirely new workflow for simplifying and speeding up mix cueing functions. When activated, the feature automatically puts your mix in AFL (after-fade listen) mode when you assign an Aux Send or Variable Group to the input encoders, ensuring that you’re adjusting and listening to the same mix at all times. You can even AFL mixes while continuing to mix, using the currently selected output fader bank (typically VCAs).

Handy Top-Level VENUE System Lock
If your console is located in an area that’s easily accessible to the public, D-Show 2.7 software provides a simple solution that allows you to disable all top-level console functions and the software display to keep the curious from changing your settings. Gain some peace of mind when you leave the mix position during a break or intermission, knowing that your settings will be intact when you return (PQ, external events, and MIDI recall of all snapshots remain enabled).

View VCA Contribution in Real Time
Get instant visual feedback of a VCA’s effect on your overall mix. D-Show 2.7 software provides a new feature that, when enabled, allows you to see how your VCA adjustments affect the fader levels of the channels they control. As you move a VCA, the screen actively displays your relative level changes as red-outlined “ghost” faders for all affected channels, allowing you to keep an eye on current settings without losing sight of your actual mix levels. In addition, when you touch a VCA-controlled channel fader whose level is turned down by at least 60 dB, the responsible VCA number appears on the console’s channel strip as a heads-up.

Keep Your Plug-ins Up to Date
Forget about manually checking in with each manufacturer to see if your plug-ins are up to date. D-Show 2.7 software features a new comprehensive database that stores the latest plug-in version information, making it easy to see which version of a plug-in you’re running (or about to install), and if there’s an update. The new Info pane displays a selected plug-in’s version number, any available updates, and the URL to download the software.
