Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2 Update for Intel-based Macs
|
| Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2 Update for Intel-based Macs |
October 5, 2006
For Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox, or Mbox 2 Systems with Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 for Intel-based Macs Only
This update will not work without Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 for Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox, or Mbox 2 systems on Intel-based Macs already installed. This update should NOT be used with Pro Tools LE 7.1.3 for Mbox 2 Pro on Intel-based Macs.
What's Fixed in Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2?
Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2 for Intel-based Macs contains the following:
Fixed: Relink Problems With Avid Audio, and When Using Mtools, Soundminer, or NetMix to import files (Item #77061, 79230, 81138)
- Files without unique IDs imported into Pro Tools could not be later relinked if the file name had later been changed by the user from the Finder level.
- Using "Automatically Copy on Import" created a duplicate file only when using Soundminer. Only the Pro Tools-created file (with an appended "2") was assigned a Unique ID.
- Relink problems would occur when reopening the session
Pro Tools will now:
- Automatically add a unique ID to audio files when opening a session or importing audio.
- Recognize Avid unique IDs, even when DigiTranslator is not present.
Fixed: When Using Network Home Directories, Pro Tools Would Not Launch if the Library/Preferences Directories Were Not On A Local File System (Item #78524)
Fixed - Standard Type 1 MIDI files, exported from Pro Tools 7.x, could not be read by some applications (item #71254)
Fixes Included from Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs1
Fixed: Pro Tools Always Overwrites Automation in Existing Playlists When Using "Import (Session Data) - Overlay New on Existing Playlists." (Item #63172)
- Pro Tools would not allow a session with a 2-hour start time to overlay automation data on a session with a 1-hour start time without clearing all automation before 2 hours on the destination session.
- Automation cannot be "combined" with an overlay - the destination session's automation will be replaced from the Session Start time of the source session.
- Inserts and sends must be consistent between sessions or they may be overwritten.
Fixed: Volumes With Japanese Naming Will Not Mount In DigiBase. (Item # 73463)
- Volumes with Japanese naming will not mount in DigiBase and will not allow you to create a Pro Tools session without an error.
Fixed: Opening or Importing an OMF With AIFF Media Would Result In An Error (Item # 77908)
- This would result in an assertion error.
- DigiTranslator users only.
Fixed: When Using CoreAudio Input To Record With Third Party Applications, Digital Noise Would Result. (Item # 78481)
- Note that this problem only occurs with Intel-based Macs.
Fixed: Some Automation Moves Could Be Written Incorrectly When Writing Immediately After A "Play" Command (Item # 78032)
- This could occur when touching a control immediately after a "play" command, but before the transport started moving.
Who Should Use Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2?
This update is recommended for all Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 for Intel-based Mac users and contains fixes in the following areas:
- Better unique ID management
- Importing files using 3rd party applications
- Exporting MIDI
- Using "Overlay" with "Import Session Data"
- Using volumes with Japanese

DigiTranslator 2.0 installation and Removal
|
| DigiTranslator 2.0 installation and Removal |
Because each version of Pro Tools requires the correct matching version of DigiTranslator 2.0, there are no separate downloadable installers of DigiTranslator.
The installation or update for DigiTranslator 2.0 owners is installed during Pro Tools installation, either from the Pro Tools Web Installer or the Pro Tools CD/DVD.
DigiTranslator is also installed during DV Toolkit and DV Toolkit 2 installation.
How to Install DigiTranslator
- Run the Pro Tools HD or LE version 6.1 or higher installer application, or Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 or higher installer application
- Put a check mark in the box next to "DigiTranslator"
- Follow the prompts in the installer application
How to Remove DigiTranslator
Although the removal of the DigiTranslator is the same for both platforms, It is in a different location than the removal of plug-ins. Digitranslator may be removed by deleting the file named OMF.dll or OMF.bundle from the following location:
- Windows XP: local C/Program files/Digidesign/Pro Tools/OMF.dll or OMF.bundle
- Mac OS X:Mac HD/Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools/OMF.dll or OMF.bundle
For information on installation and removal of DigiTranslator, as well as instructions on how to use it, please see the DigiTranslator Guide.pdf, automatically installed with DigiTranslator, or available below.
