Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 Update for Mac OS X 10.3 & Windows XP |

Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 is a free download for all Pro Tools|HD owners with Pro Tools TDM 6.4, 6.6, 6.7, or 6.9 software for HD systems.
Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 software provides support for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther*) and Windows XP with Digidesign Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel systems.
If you are on Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", you should download the Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 for Mac OS X 10.4 Update instead, or upgrade to Pro Tools HD 7.
Download Instructions
Your Pro Tools TDM version 6.4, 6.7, or 6.9 authorization code is required to download, install, and authorize these updates. This can be found in one of the following locations:
- Inside the front cover of your Getting Started with Pro Tools|HD Guide (version 6.4 or 6.7/6.9)
- Inside the front cover of your Upgrading to Pro Tools 6.4, Upgrading to Pro Tools 6.7, Upgrading to Pro Tools 6.9 or What's New in Pro Tools 6.4 booklet included with Pro Tools|HD version 6.4, 6.7, and 6.9 updates and upgrades.
Installation
The Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 Update requires Pro Tools TDM 6.4, 6.6, 6.7, or 6.9 software for Pro Tools|HD systems, which must already be installed on your computer.
Custom MIDI Patch Name Documents
The Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 Update for Mac OS X will overwrite any .midnam documents in the following location: Macintosh HD-> Library-> Audio-> MIDI Patch Names-> Digidesign. If you have previously added any custom .midnam documents please make backup copies before updating Pro Tools.
SYNC I/O Firmware Version 1.1.1 Requirement
Pro Tools TDM 6.9.x requires that you update your SYNC I/O firmware to run Pro Tools. When Pro Tools is installed, new firmware for the SYNC I/O is automatically installed in the Pro Tools Utilities folder within the Digidesign folder. When you launch Pro Tools for the first time, you will be prompted to update your SYNC I/O firmware.
Legacy MIDI Controllers
The following control surfaces were not tested with Pro Tools 6.9.1, and therefore are not officially supported:
- JL Cooper CS-10 MIDI series
- JL Cooper MCS 3000 series MCS-Panner
- Peavy PC-1600
The Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 installers do not install these by default. If you have a MIDI control surface that uses one of these control surface personality files, you will need to also download the Legacy MIDI Controllers for Pro Tools 6.9.x for Mac OS X or Windows XP.
What if I do not own Pro Tools TDM 6.4, 6.7, or 6.9?
- Pro Tools 6.4 and higher for HD systems is a paid upgrade from Pro Tools 6.2.x and lower
- If you do not already own Pro Tools 6.4 or higher for HD systems, you would need to purchase an upgrade from Pro Tools 6.2.x or lower.
- Upgrades to Pro Tools HD 7 for Mac OS X 10.4 and Windows XP for owners of Pro Tools|HD systems that do not have Pro Tools TDM 6.4 or higher are available from the online DigiStore or your local Digidesign Dealer.
- Upgrades to Pro Tools TDM 6.9 for Mac OS X 10.3 for owners of Pro Tools|HD systems that do not have Pro Tools TDM 6.4, 6.7, or 6.9 are available from the online DigiStore. See "Pro Tools TDM 6.9/6.9.2 Software Upgrade" under Pro Tools Upgrades.
