Pro Tools LE 6.9 for Mac OS X 10.3 & Windows XP

Pro Tools LE 6.9 is a free download for all Pro Tools LE owners with Pro Tools LE 6.7 software.

Pro Tools LE 6.9 software provides support for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther*) and Windows XP with the following Digidesign Pro Tools LE systems:
  • Digi 002
  • Digi 002 Rack
  • Mbox
*If you are on Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", you should download the Pro Tools LE 6.9.2 Update for Mac OS X 10.4 for Pro Tools LE 6.7 & 6.9 owners instead, or upgrade to Pro Tools LE 7.

Your Pro Tools LE version 6.7 authorization code is required to download, install, and authorize these updates. This can be found in one of the following locations:
  • Inside the front cover of your Getting Started Guide (version 6.7)
  • Inside the front cover of your Upgrading to Pro Tools 6.7 booklet included with Pro Tools LE 6.7 updates and upgrades.

Installation


These Pro Tools LE 6.9 updates require a Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, or Mbox hardware system with Pro Tools LE 6.7 software already installed.

Legacy MIDI Controllers
The following control surfaces were not tested with Pro Tools LE 6.9, and therefore are not officially supported:
  • JL Cooper CS-10™ MIDI series
  • JL Cooper MCS 3000 series MCS-Panner™
  • Peavy PC-1600™
The Pro Tools LE 6.9 installers do not install these by default. If you have a MIDI control surface that uses one of these control surface personality files, you will need to also download the Legacy MIDI Controllers for Pro Tools 6.9 for Mac OS X or Windows XP.

Custom MIDI Patch Name Documents
The Pro Tools LE 6.9 Update for Mac OS X will overwrite any .midnam documents in the following location: Macintosh HD-> Library-> Audio-> MIDI Patch Names-> Digidesign. If you have previously added any custom .midnam documents please make backup copies before updating Pro Tools.

What if I do not own Pro Tools LE 6.7?


  • Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher is a paid upgrade from Pro Tools LE 6.4 and lower. For exceptions, see the Pro Tools LE 6.9 Update Request Form
  • There is no downloadable updater to Pro Tools LE 6.7 from earlier versions, or full download of Pro Tools LE 6.7, 6.9, or 6.9.2. The only downloadable updates for these are the Pro Tools LE 6.9 and 6.9.2 updaters for Pro Tools LE 6.7/6.9 owners.
  • Upgrades to Pro Tools LE 7 for Mac OS X 10.4 and Windows XP for owners of Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, and Mbox systems that do not have Pro Tools LE 6.7 are available from the online DigiStore or your local Digidesign Dealer.
  • Upgrades to Pro Tools LE 6.9 for Mac OS X 10.3 for owners of Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, and Mbox systems that do not have Pro Tools LE 6.7 are available from the online DigiStore.
