Who Should Use Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1?



Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1 for Mac OS X contains fixes in the following areas:
  • Editing/Conform
  • ProControl
  • Video Satellite, Avid video peripherals
  • Scrolling

Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1 is provided as an interim "customer support (CS)" release to address the issues described. While our testing has not shown these changes to introduce other problems, the fixes described have not been fully qualified by Digidesign.


What's Included in Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1 for Mac OS X?



Fixed: Exiting the Start/End/Length fields using "/" (the forward slash key from the numeric keypad) caused the entered value to be ignored (Item #118727)
  • Resolved an issue in which using the "/" key (forward slash key from the numeric keypad) to exit the Start/End/Length fields after entering a value would cause the entered value to be ignored. This broke the workflow with several 3rd party conform applications, including but not limited to maggot conformalizer software and Virtual Katy software.

Fixed: ProControl channel matrix not functioning properly with Pro Tools 8 (Item #115111)
  • Resolved an issue in which the ProControl channel matrix would not display all parameters

Fixed: In some cases, Avid video or satellite track edits don't align properly with video clips in AAF sequence (Item #118252)
  • In some cases, a satellite or Avid video track could incorrectly show edits that did not align with the original AAF sequence from Media Composer

Fixed: Improved horizontal scrolling with track balls and Apple Mighty Mouse (Item #119003)
  • Optimized scrolling speed and performance with track balls and Apple Mighty Mouse. The scroll speed is now more consistent with using the right/left arrow buttons in Pro Tools.
  • Users should also install the latest drivers for their input device (from Apple, Logitech, Kensington, etc.)


Installation Instructions



Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1
To update to Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1:
1. Verify Pro Tools HD 8.0.1 is installed on your Pro Tools|HD system.
2. Quit the Pro Tools application if it is open.
3. Locate the Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1 update installer and launch it.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1.
5. When installation is complete, restart your computer.
Pro Tools HD 8.0.1cs1 will update the following files to the version listed (use Get Info to view file version):
  • Pro Tools HD.app (v8.0.1cs1)
  • DigiCoreAudioManager.app (v8.0.1cs1)
  • DFW.framework (v8.0.1cs1)

Satellite Link & Video Satellite LE
If you install the Satellite Link or Video Satellite LE option for the first time on a satellite system after installing Pro Tools 8.0.1cs1, you should also download the separate "standalone" update for these options:
  • Satellite Link 8.0cs1 (Mac) — for installation on the Pro Tools HD video satellite system, installs the following file:
    • SatelliteLinkEnabler.bundle (v8.0.0cs1)
  • Video Satellite LE 8.0cs1 (Mac) — for installation on the Pro Tools LE video satellite system, installs the following file:
    • VideoSatelliteLEEnabler.bundle (v8.0.0cs1)

If you already installed the Satellite Link or Video Satellite LE option on a satellite system, then updated the satellite system to Pro Tools 8.0cs1, 8.0cs2, 8.0cs3, or 8.0.1, there is no need to download these separate updates. If your version of these files in your Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools shows either "8.0.0cs1" or "8.0.1", you do not need to download the separate updates for these.
