About Pro Tools M-Powered Software
  • A qualified M-Audio hardware interface is required to use Pro Tools M-Powered software
  • The M-Audio interface must be connected to your computer to use Pro Tools M-Powered software
  • Pro Tools M-Powered supports the use of any single supported M-Audio peripheral. Simultaneous use of multiple M-Audio peripherals is not supported.
  • Other audio interfaces from M-Audio have not been qualified with M-Powered
  • Audio interfaces by Digidesign or any manufacturer other than M-Audio will not work with Pro Tools M-Powered software
  • Pro Tools M-Powered software allows a maximum of 18 audio inputs and outputs, depending on your audio interface I/O capability

Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Pro Tools Software Versions Below 8.0.3 Are Not Compatible With Snow Leopard. Pro Tools 8.0.3 is a free update for all Pro Tools 8 owners. Version 8.0.3 supports the following Mac OS X versions, on Intel-based Macs only:
  • Mac OS X 10.6.1 – 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard)
  • Mac OS X 10.5.5 – 10.5.8 (Leopard)

Please Note: Pro Tools 8.0.3 software (and higher) does not support some retired products, including:
  • Macintosh PowerPC Computers

  • Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4.2 or Pro Tools M-Powered 8 is required for Leopard
  • Pro Tools 7.4.2 requires Mac OS X 10.5.3 or 10.5.4, and is not compatible with earlier versions of Leopard (not tested with 10.5.5 or higher)
  • Pro Tools 8.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5.5, 10.5.6, 10.5.7, or 10.5.8, and is not compatible with earlier versions of Leopard: Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 for Mac OS X System Requirements

Upgrades
  • The current Pro Tools M-Powered upgrade is Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.x for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Windows Vista 32-bit, and Windows XP, available from the online DigiStore. For more information, see the following:

  • All paid upgrades are full installers that do not require previous installation of Pro Tools software. To upgrade from a previous version of Pro Tools M-Powered, it is only necessary to purchase the most recent upgrade.

Recent Purchases
  • If you’ve purchased and registered a new Pro Tools M-Powered full software package from an authorized Digidesign/M-Audio dealer or "Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 with Free Upgrade to Pro Tools M-Powered 8" software upgrade, from Digidesign/M-Audio on or after October 3, 2008, you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 software.

  • If you’ve purchased and registered a new Pro Tools M-Powered full software package or purchased Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3 software upgrade from Digidesign/M-Audio or an authorized Digidesign/M-Audio dealer between October 1, 2007 and October 2, 2008, you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 software.

  • Please make sure that you have registered your Pro Tools M-Powered full software package using the included online registration card to receive this special offer.
    • Qualifying Pro Tools M-Powered software upgrades are automatically registered when purchased on the DigiStore, or upon activation if the upgrade is purchased from an authorized Digidesign or M-Audio dealer.
    • Free "No Cost Updates" you may have already received do not qualify for an additional free upgrade to the next paid version (regardless of when you might have received the no cost update). Only the purchase of a new hardware system or purchased software upgrade would qualify as a recent purchase.

  • Registered owners that qualify should receive an email from Digidesign Customer Service with your Activation Code and details on how to activate and download your free upgrade. Except during peak periods (such as the when a new upgrade is first released), these emails normally go out within 24 hours of when you register your qualifying product.

  • You can return to your Pro Tools 8 downloads at any time after purchase and activation by logging into your My Digi account. Click on "View All Downloads" under "Registered Downloads" in your My Digi account AFTER activation has been completed.
