About Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2
Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 is specifically for Digi 002 owners on Windows XP systems who want to take advantage of the superior performance of Avid Mojo for video playback. All other users should continue to use their current versions of Pro Tools.

Using a Digi 002, Avid Mojo, and DV Toolkit option, you can open OMF/AAF sequences created by Avid editors, play back Avid video files via an external monitor, tab from video cut to video cut in the Pro Tools timeline, and export audio for re-integration into the original Avid sequence, making this the fastest audio-for-video workflow available. Avid Pro Tools LE is part of the Avid Xpress Studio Complete bundle (not required).

System Requirements
  • Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 has very specific hardware and configuration requirements. Before downloading this software, please see the following for all supported Xpress Studio Complete configurations:

  • Qualified for installation on the same CPU with Avid Xpress Pro version 5.2.1 ONLY. Pro Tools and Avid Xpress Pro share several components, so successful co-installation with other versions of Xpress Pro is not guaranteed.
  • DV Toolkit or DigiTranslator required for exchange of AAF and OMF sequences and files
  • Pro Tools LE 6.0 through 6.4 license and authorization code required to download and authorize (Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher license will not work)
Though not required, the following Avid products may be installed on the same CPU with Pro Tools 6.5.3r2:
  • Avid Xpress Pro HD v5.2.1

Q: I have Pro Tools LE 6.4. Is there any reason to update to Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2?
A: Not unless you have Avid Mojo hardware. There are no other updates for Pro Tools LE in this release. If you have Pro Tools LE 6.4 but do not have Mojo hardware, you may want to download the latest Pro Tools LE 6.4 CS updates, or upgrade to Pro Tools LE 7.

Q: Can I use Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 with Pro Tools LE 6.7 or higher installed on my system?
A: No, this has not been tested and is not supported. The Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher authorizations will not work with Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2, and will not allow you to download 6.5.3r2. Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 should only be used to replace the following:
  • Pro Tools LE 6.1, 6.1.1, or 6.4 on Windows XP
  • Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5, 6.5.1, or 6.5.2 on Windows XP
Q: Does Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher support Avid Mojo?
A: No. Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher does not include Avid Mojo support.

Your Pro Tools LE version 6.0, 6.1, or 6.4 authorization code is required to download and authorize Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 (Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher authorization will not work). This can be found in one of the following locations:

Installation Instructions
  • 1. Uninstall any existing Pro Tools installation: Use Add/Remove Programs, and select the "Pro Tools LE only" option
  • 2. Uninstall Avid DIO Runtime, using Add/Remove Programs
  • 3. If installing Xpress Pro 5.2.1, install now
  • 4. Run the PT LE 6.5.3r2 Setup.exe installer
  • 5. If you have not installed Xpress Pro 5.2.1 on the same computer, run the SETUP.EXE file inside the Avid DIO Installer folder included with this download.
Microsoft C++ Runtime Error on first launch
In some cases, Mojo users may see a Microsoft C++ Runtime error on the first launch of Avid Pro Tools LE 6.5.3r2 after updating the Mojo’s firmware. If this occurs, simply dismiss the error, reboot the CPU, and power cycle the Mojo. Pro Tools will now launch and initialize the Mojo.
