DrumCore adds new audio engine features, more A-list drummers and styles to its library

(June 12, 2006) — Submersible is shipping a new version of its popular DrumCore software (www.drumcore.com). DrumCore 2 adds features most-requested by users and reviewers which include continuously variable tempo (121.035 for example); tempo synchronization with ReWire hosts; separate outputs with pitch and pan controls for its MIDI drum sounds (kick, snare, etc.); plus REX export capabilities. The new version also increases the number of included loops, fills and drumkits. DrumCore 2 adds country drums by Lonnie Wilson (Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts), odd time signature (5/4, 7/8, etc.) grooves by Alan White (John Lennon, Yes), plus double-kick pop/rock/progressive beats by Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Missing Persons, Zappa, UK). New jazz brush content by John Bishop (Ernie Watts) has been added and more pop grooves by Ben Smith (Heart). DrumCore consists of multiple DVDs containing the DrumCore application and content (audio and MIDI grooves plus drumkits) by renowned drummers including Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Sly Dunbar (Bob Marley), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow), Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt), Ned Douglas (Dave Stewart), DJ Syze-up (Ultra Nate), and Michael Shrieve (Santana). DrumCore provides a loop librarian; a MIDI drum instrument for playing drum sounds via MIDI; ReWire™, ASIO and platform audio support; plus a Pro Tools®-specific “export to track” feature as well as drag and drop support for Pro Tools 7.

DrumCore 2 syncs to any Pro Tools via ReWire at any tempo, with up to three decimal places of accuracy (such as 121.058 bpm). Get real drummer feel at multiple bpms plus all the “in-between” tempos.

REX2 support – easily export DrumCore content as REX2™ files
Now all DrumCore 2 content can be exported as REX2 files plus you can use DrumCore 2 as a librarian for any REX2 content!. Drag DrumCore content to a Pro Tools track and tempos stay “flexible”.

With DrumCore 2 Submersible has included all the performances from previous DrumCore versions plus even more great content and styles. New country grooves are included from Lonnie Wilson (two time winner of the ACM “Country Drummer of the Year” award). Odd meters (5/4, 7/8, 9/8) are represented by expanded Alan White (Yes) content, and smokin’, new double-kick pop/rock/progressive content from Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa). Plus there is more jazz brush content from Jon Bishop and pop grooves from Ben Smith. Both audio (48kHz/24-bit) and MIDI grooves are included, with GrooveSets recorded at 10 bpm increments, (as drummers play differently at different tempos). And of course this means more MIDI drumkits too!

MIDI Drum Module – separate audio outputs with pitch and pan control for all drum sounds
DrumCore 2’s MIDI drum module features separate outputs for each drum pad (snare, kick...). Each sound can be routed to the ReWire inputs in Pro Tools (mono or stereo) to allow mixing and plug-in processing. Also in DrumCore 2 there are new pitch and pan controls for fine-tuning drumkit sounds to individual needs. Need to tune the kick a bit to sound more solid with the bass part? REX2 and ACID librarian support – use DrumCore as a librarian for all your REX2 and ACID® files
With the huge number of ACID and REX loop libraries out there it would be great to have a tool to organize it all. DrumCore 2 provides that by allowing you to search and audition any REX2 or ACID file as easily as DrumCore’s own content. Simultaneously audition any loop with your Pro Tools session.

Loop Librarian/Search Engine – the fastest way to the perfect groove
The DrumCore search engine lets you quickly search and audition content based on drummer, style (rock, funk and others), feel (straight, shuffle, etc.), time signature and tempo. Users can add comments and change other searchable criteria (create a “style” for example). REX2, ACID, WAV, AIFF, SD2 and MIDI files are supported.

GrooveSets –building blocks for creating a great drum track
Content is organized in “GrooveSets”, with a basic groove, variations and fills that support standard song structure (intros, verse, chorus, etc.).

The “Gabrielizer™” — fuel for the creative process
DrumCore’s “Gabrielizer” technology intelligently generates variations on audio or MIDI content based on a set of “drummer rules”.
