One of the most important things when you’re steeped in the creative flow is being able to move quickly. The ability to access commonly used parameters on the fly right when you need really helps keep the creative flow going. Being able to view send assignments to quickly access them is a perfect case in point. Here’s how to set that up:

Open the Mix window; you’ll notice Pro Tools defaults to just showing you your send assignments. To switch this so that you can view and control a send assignment right from within the Mix window, select “View” from the Pro Tools menu selection and navigate down to your sends. From there, choose which send you’d like to view. You’ll notice that your sends view has changed from the normal send assignments view to actually showing the fader of the send you selected (in this case, Send A). You can now control your send assignment directly from here; you’ll have a fader on each channel strip you decide to do this on.

And that’s it! With the ability to view and control your sends on the fly, you’ll be able to move around your session more quickly and keep that creative ball rolling…fast!
