Can Command|8 and HUI (or another control surface) work together?

Can Command|8 and HUI (or another control surface) work together?
No, Command|8 must be the only MIDI control surface enabled within Pro Tools.

Command|8 may be used with non-MIDI control surfaces (D-Control, D-Command, ProControl or Control|24) with some limitations.

When used with Control|24, Command|8 faders overlap (i.e. duplicate) the left-most eight faders currently banked on Control|24.

From the Command|8 Guide

To clear this out you need to Reset the unit from within the Utilities section... which is virtualy impossible to read since it is solid blocks instead of text. The Reset can be performed "blindly" by hitting the following switches:

Utilities
  • Soft Keys Right Column, Middle Switch
  • Soft Keys Left Column, Bottom Switch
  • Soft Keys Left Column, Bottom Switch

Voila!

When plug-in is in Learn mode and the track with this plug-in is not focused on Main ICON unit, all automation LED-s in plug-in UI will be red if the track is in one of automation write modes. This conflicts with red color indication for plug-in control, which has been armed for mapping.
This is a known issue in Pro Tools HD 8 (Mac OS X & Windows XP).

Workaround: Put the track with plug-in to 'Read' automation mode. ページ表示
