Bomb Factory Plug-in Updates for Pro Tools 8 — BF-2A, MC77, BF-3A, Fairchild 660/670


Pro Tools 8 installs newer versions of some Bomb Factory plug-ins that may not work with your previous Bomb Factory "v4" iLok authorizations. This is because a new version of the Bomb Factory Classic Compressors Bundle was released along with Pro Tools 8.

The new version of the Classic Compressors released December 17, 2008 includes these plug-ins:
  • BF-2A
  • BF-3A
  • Fairchild 660/670
  • Purple Audio MC77
The previous Classic Compressors bundle included these 2 plug-ins:
  • BF-2A
  • Purple Audio MC77
Owners of the previous Classic Compressors do not receive the BF-3A or Fairchild Bundle plug-ins included in the new Classic Compressors bundle.

Because all of the plug-ins included in the new bundle are no longer sold individually, previous owners of the following plug-ins will need to download the installers below. These will install 8.0 versions of these plug-ins that will work with your Bomb Factory "v4" iLok authorizations from Digidesign.*

Bomb Factory Classic Compressors Bundle Update for Pro Tools 8
This updates version 6.x and 7.x of the Bomb Factory Classic Compressors bundle plug-ins (BF-2A and Purple Audio MC77) to version 8.0.
  • These plug-ins use the "BF Classic Compressors v4" authorization on your iLok

Bomb Factory BF-3A Update for Pro Tools 8
This updates version 6.x and 7.x of the Bomb Factory BF-3A plug-in to version 8.0.
  • This plug-in uses the "Bomb Factory BF-3A" authorization on your iLok

Fairchild Bundle Update for Pro Tools 8
This updates version 6.x and 7.x Bomb Factory Fairchild Bundle plug-ins (Fairchild 660 and Fairchild 670) to version 8.0.
  • These plug-ins use the "BF Fairchild Bundle v4" authorization on your iLok

Individual Plug-ins



Fairchild 660 or 670
If you own an iLok license for only one of the Fairchild plug-ins (660 or 670), but not both, you would need to download the Fairchild 660 and 670 v7.4.x installer below, then remove the Fairchild 660 or Fairchild 670 plug-in from your plug-ins folder manually, or during Pro Tools startup you will be asked if you want to move any unauthorized plug-ins to your Plug-Ins (Unused) folder.

Purple Audio MC77
If you own an iLok license for the Purple Audio MC77, but not the BF-2A plug-in or Classic Compressors bundle, you would need to download the Bomb Factory Classic Compressors BF-2A & MC77 v7.4.x installer below, then remove the "bombfactory BF-2A" plug-in from your plug-ins folder manually, or during Pro Tools startup you will be asked if you want to move any unauthorized plug-ins to your Plug-Ins (Unused) folder.


*Please Note: The Digidesign Bomb Factory 4.0 and higher plug-ins have iLok authorizations that are different from legacy Bomb Factory products sold by Bomb Factory. ILok authorizations for Bomb Factory versions 3.0 and earlier will not work with the new Digidesign Bomb Factory 4.0 and higher plug-in installers. Customers who own legacy versions of Bomb Factory plug-in authorizations and wish to obtain new iLok licenses (authorizations) for the Digidesign Bomb Factory 4.0 and higher plug-ins should visit the Bomb Factory Legacy Plug-ins page for information on Bomb Factory updates and upgrades.
