Command|8 is not recognized when launching Pro Tools, and the following error message is posted, "The original MIDI device associated with the MIDI Controller Command8 could not be located. Please choose an existing MIDI device in the MIDI controller section of the peripherals dialog."

This may happen if Command|8 was connected to a USB port after booting the PC. To get Command|8 to initialize properly:
  • Quit Pro Tools
  • Connect Command|8 to a USB port
  • Restart the PC
  • Launch Pro Tools
