| Unable to authorize plug-ins on Pro Tools NT. Floppy drive does not recognize the key disk. |
PACE reports this is caused by certain types of virus detection software. Disabling "Scan Floppies" in the virus detection software may alleviate the problem.
According to PACE, newer versions of Norton do not exhibit this problem.
Note: Both the Floppy drive and the TPkD device will share IRQ 6. This is the normal configuration and should not cause any problems.

| NTFS boot drives who's volume names are changed to longer than 11 characters lose their PACE authorization. |
WARNING - Loss of Plug-In authorization keys may occur. If your system contains one or more drive(s) formatted with NTFS, which have volume names longer than 11 characters, corruption of InterLok Plug-In authorizations may occur. In order to remedy this issue before corruption can occur, rename NTFS volumes to names that are 11 characters or less before installing or launching Pro Tools. Should you attempt to launch Pro Tools with NTFS drives longer than 11 characters, a dialog should appear alerting you to this fact.
This is a known issue in Pro Tools TDM 5.1.1 for Windows 2000.

|
| Why does my Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs show two Pace System File entries? |
If older Pace wrapped plug-ins, versions 2.1 and below, are installed after version 3.0 plug-ins, your Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs will show two Pace System Files entries. To clean this up, though plug-in functionality is not affected one way or the other, run Pace System Files version 3.0 again off your Pro Tools 5.1.1 CD-ROM.
This is a known issue in Pro Tools TDM 5.1.1 for Windows 2000.

|
| I installed Pro Tools LE 5.1 (Mac) and D-Verb asks for key disk authorization. I only have a serial number. Do I need a key disk? |
No, you don't need a key disk, you need to install the correct version of D-Verb, which uses your D-Verb serial number/authorization code.
Installing Pro Tools LE 5.1 or the D-Verb Plug-In Demo over previous installs of Pro Tools LE will remove your FREE D-Verb Plug-In. To keep your FREE D-Verb Plug-in from being overwritten by the Pro Tools LE 5.1 and D-Verb Demo Installers, remove both the D-Verb and D-Verb AS Plug-Ins from your Plug-Ins folder. Place the plug-ins in a temporary location other than the Pro Tools Plug-Ins folder and outside of your System Folder, such as on your Desktop. The Plug-Ins folder is located in the following directory:System Folder:DAE Folder:Plug-Ins
After removing the D-Verb & D-Verb AS Plug-Ins from the Plug-Ins folder, run the Pro Tools 5.1 LE Installer. Once the Pro Tools 5.1 installation is complete, both the D-Verb and D-Verb AS Plug-Ins can be returned to the Plug-Ins folder. An updated FREE D-Verb Installer for Pro Tools LE users is posted on the Digidesign website in Support/Downloads at:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/dverb.html
Note: If you have already run either the Pro Tools LE 5.1 or D-Verb Demo Installer and fear you have overwritten your FREE D-Verb Plug-Ins,you can still reinstall the FREE D-Verb Plug-In Promotion from the Pro Tools LE 5.0.1 Software CD.
The D-Verb serial number for newly purchased systems is located on the "FREE D-Verb for Pro Tools LE" promotion brightly colored postcard that is included with the system. If you upgraded to Pro Tools LE 5.1 the authorization from D-Verb 1.7 will still be valid for D-Verb 1.8.
Since both the authorization code and the key disk versions of D-Verb 1.8 have the same version number, you can tell them apart by viewing their creation date:
D-Verb 1.8 (authorization code version) has a creation date of Feb 21, 2001.
D-Verb 1.8 (key disk authorization version) has a creation date of Jan 18, 2001.

|
| Authorizing with a USB NewerTech uDrive will not work, even after all proper extensions are installed, etc... |
In one case, connecting the uDrive to the Keyboard's USB connector worked, whereas connecting to the second USB bus on the back of the computer did not.
Don't ask me too many details. I just know it absolutely was not working at all on the rear USB bus.
uDrive was being powered by AC Adapter so I don't think it was a power issue.
