In Pro Tools 6 the MOTU MIDI Interfaces will not transmit or receive MIDI to and from Pro Tools.
When the Digi 002 or Digi 001 midi driver (DIOOSXMIDIDriver.plugin) is present in the Midi drivers folder MOTU Midi interfaces, like the Midi Time Piece will not send or receive midi into Pro Tools

Work around,
To get the MOTU interfaces to send and receive midi

- Move the DIOOSXMIDIDriver.plugin folder out of the Midi Drivers folder and place it on the desktop.
- Restart the Mac
- Now the MOTU interface should work correctly
- This will consequently disable your midi ports on your 002 or 001

[ The DIOOSXMIDIDriver.plugin can be found in the Mac HD>Library > Audio>Midi Drivers ]

In Pro Tools, are the intermediate files created during a "Convert After Bounce" multiple mono?
When Pro Tools bounces to disk and "Convert After Bounce" is selected, an intermediate bounce file is created at 24-bit regardless of the final bit-depth and file type destination of the bounce. In a multichannel (stereo, 5.1, etc.) bounce, the intermediate files are multiple mono.

Mbox and latency issues with Pro Tools LE for recording and playback on a Windows PC.
Here are a few tips regarding latency issues with Mbox on a Windows PC:

When recording into Pro Tools LE/Windows:
1) Mute record enabled audio track in Pro Tools. When recording on Mbox, you are actually monitoring the audio signal going to Mbox. If the record enabled audio track is not muted, you will also be monitoring the signal going out of Pro Tools back to Mbox. This will be heard as a doubling effect because you are hearing both the input and the latent output at the same time.
2) Adjust the "Mix" knob on Mbox to prevent any echo or latency sound.
3) Press the "Mono" button on Mbox. This will prevent the input signal from sounding hard panned left or right when adjusting the Mix knob on Mbox. The "Mono" knob does not affect the mix playing out of Pro Tools, just the incoming signal.

Buffer underrun or -6031 error while looping playback in Pro Tools 6.1
This is a known issue in Pro Tools 6.1 with AVoption|XL when looping short selections (i.e. 1 second). Try increasing the loop length.

If a SYNC I/O is connected, try installing DAE 6.1 Beta from the Beta/Bug Fix folder on your Pro Tools 6.1 install CD.

-6031 errors in Pro Tools 6.1 with SYNC I/O or AVoption XL.
Try using DAE 6.1cs1. The installer for this version of DAE is on the Pro Tools 6.1 Installer CD-ROM in Additional Files\Beta Software. This version of DAE leaves the RTAS engine off until an RTAS plug-in is instantiated. Thus, it is recommended that no RTAS plug-ins be used when trying to avoid -6031 errors. At the time of this writing, Digidesign is looking for a solution that will allow RTAS plug-ins to be used in this configuration.

S/PDIF Mirroring cannot effectively be disabled in Pro Tools LE 6.01 using the Digi 001. This setting can be changed but is not reflected in the I/O setup.
1. Without Pro Tools launched, try going to your Hard Drive>Users>Your User Name>Library >Preferences and trash the DAE Prefs, Digisetup.OSX, and Pro Tools LE Preferences.

2. Relaunch Pro Tools and disable S/PDIF Mirroring.

3. If the I/O Setup does not reflect the change try deleting your output paths and select Default.

4. If the I/O Setup still does not reflect the change, try quitting out of Pro Tools, relaunching and repeat step 3.
