Session containing large amounts of MIDI regions can cause Pro Tools to freeze.
This is a known issue with Pro Tools TDM & LE 5.01.
Work around : Use "Select Unused Regions" in the MIDI Regions List menu and "Clear Selected" to reduce the number of regions.

This customer was running OS 8.6. Removing the Control Panel and restarting the computer solved this issue. Also, tapping fingers when opening the Playback Engine Setup Window, is another indication of this problem. The Digidesign Control Panel is only compatible with OS 9 or higher.

Verify that the SampleCell Editor is version 2.1.

Pro Tools Free will not run in conjunction with another version of Pro Tools. If you have installed Pro Tools Free over another version of Pro Tools, you will need to reinstall Pro Tools TDM or LE if you wish to use that version of Pro Tools.
Note that on the MAC all non Pro Tools Free components will be moved to the Obsoleted Digidesign Software folder.
If you are a Windows user have Pro Tools FREE installed on your computer, please do the following BEFORE installing the Digi001 or AMIII card in your computer:
1) Uninstall Pro Tools FREE (use the "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the Windows Control Panel)
2) Reboot your computer at least once
3) Turn your machine off and install the Digi001 or AMIII card
4) Proceed with the driver installation when you boot Windows, then Run the Pro Tools LE installer
If you don't remove Pro Tools FREE (and reboot) before installing the Digi001/AMIII card, you will need to reinstall the drivers. If you don't reinstall the drivers you will see 'DAE is low on memory' when you try to launch Pro Tools LE. To reinstall the AMIII/Digi001 drivers, go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager and bring up Properties for the AMIII/Digi001 device. Click the 'Update Driver' button on the Driver Tab and choose to browse for the driver files (in the WaveDriver98 folder on the Pro Tools LE Installer).
