Third-party Plug-in Compatibility with Pro Tools 7.4.2 (Mac OS X 10.5.3).
Taken from the "Read Me" for Pro Tools HD, LE & M-Powered 7.4.2 (Mac OS X 10.5.3).

Some currently shipping versions of third-party plug-ins are incompatible with Pro Tools 7.4.2 running on Mac OS X 10.5.3. Digidesign cooperates with Development Partners to maximize compatibility of their products with Pro Tools, however Digidesign does not officially test or certify these products. Visit the Digidesign website (www.digidesign.com) for the latest compatibility information for third-party products. Compatibility information concerning third-party products running under OS X 10.5.3 and Pro Tools 7.4.2 will be made available as soon as possible.

  • All TDM versions of our Development Partner products appear to be compatible with Pro Tools 7.4.2 and 10.5.3.

  • All third party plug-ins currently included in MassivePack 6 and all HDPack promotions are compatible with Pro Tools 7.4.2 with Mac OS X 10.5.3.

  • Some third-party products offered in Ignition Pack 2 and Ignition Pack 2 Pro require updates for compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5.3. Visit the Digidesign website (www.digidesign.com) for information about updates for these products.

  • If there are any old versions of ReWire client applications installed (including older versions of Melodyne, Live, and Reason), Pro Tools will hang when loading ReWire. Please make sure you have the most current versions of ReWire client applications installed to ensure compatibility.

Digidesign is committed to bringing full Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatibility to the entire Pro Tools® product line, and are working closely with our Digidesign Development Partners™ to optimize their Pro Tools plug-ins. While most Digidesign® and third-party plug-ins are Leopard-compatible with Pro Tools 7.4.2 and 8.0 software for Mac OS X 10.5, some are not yet Leopard-ready. If you use certain third-party RTAS® virtual instruments, please pay particularly close attention to the following compatibility information.

The guide below lists the plug-ins and companies whose plug-ins appear to be compatible with Pro Tools 8.0 software running on Mac OS X 10.5.5 and Pro Tools 7.4.2 software running on Mac OS X 10.5.3 & 10.5.4 (with no known significant issues), and those that will require updating (when available). If a plug-in is compatible but requires an update first, you’ll find a link to download the update next to the plug-in or company name.

What Is An iLok & Why Would I Need One?


   


Digidesign has transitioned all of our plug-in software copy protection from floppy drive based key disks to copy protection authorizations that reside on the iLok technology provide by PACE. The following is some information about iLok technology.

The iLok USB Hardware Key (pictured here) is a device that holds authorization keys and connects via the USB port to your computer.

The iLok USB Hardware Key enables you to carry all of your authorizations with you wherever you go using a single key:
  • It's Portable: iLok enables you to easily move authorizations from one computer to another. Use your software at home, at the office, at a studio, or at a friend's house. iLok makes it portable.
  • It's Safe: Authorizations are stored in the secure iLok USB Hardware Key — not on the computer or hard drive. iLok is immune to problems caused by machine upgrades, disk maintenance, hardware failures, and software updates.
  • It's Convenient: Store all of your iLok-enabled software authorizations on a single iLok USB Hardware Key, regardless of developer

Using iLok.com & Electronic iLok License Transfers



Many products that are sold online can be purchased as web-only electronic licenses to activate optional plug-ins and software installed from web downloads or your Pro Tools CD. These include many plug-ins and optional software products sold as "Full License" or time-limited "Rental" licenses available on the DigiStore. For these electronic licenses, no iLok License Card is included or required. Licenses are purchased online, deposited to your iLok.com account, and then transferred to your iLok. This is a quick and easy process that allows you to purchase products online and use them immediately.

Many new boxed versions of iLok-enabled software products from Digidesign include an activation card with instructions on how to authorize your iLok using the Digidesign website. With these products, an Activation Code is used to deposit the licenses to your account on iLok.com.

What is my iLok User ID?
If you have not already done so, you would create a free iLok.com account yourself at iLok.com. Once you create an account there, your iLok User ID is what you use to login to your account on iLok.com (not your login password, which you also choose). -6042 errors received during playback. The cause was traced back to the version of ReVibe (v 7.0)

Upgrading Revibe to 7.3 resolved the issue.

Frequent -6042 Errors (PCI "too slow") can be caused by using higher voice counts per same DSP counts when using automation with TL Space.

For example, a session might post a -6042 error while using Playback Engine settings of 64 Voices (3 DSP) or 96 Voices (3 DSP), but will not post the -6042 when using the 32 Voices (3 DSP).

Error -7204 after instantiating the Free Bomb Factory Plug-ins v4.2. when using Pro Tools 6.4.1. in OS X on a Mix system.
Mix systems using Pro Tools v6.4.1 must use v4.1.1 of the Free Bomb Factory plug-ins:
