Digidesign databases file formatting information for Pro Tools 7.0.

Digidesign databases file formatting information for Pro Tools 7.0.
Pro Tools 7.0 requires a new Digidesign database file format. Existing database files will be deleted upon launching Pro Tools 7.0 for the first time. Please re-index your drives(s) for faster searches. DigiBase Pro catalog files will not be deleted, but have to be updated. Launching Pro Tools will post a dialog allowing you to convert or delete existing catalogs.

Audio Interfaces connected to cards 5-7 at 176.4 kHz/192 kHz.
The 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz sample rates support a maximum of four HD Accel or HD Process cards. To use these sample rates, any extra I/O interfaces must be removed from the Pro Tools system.

To reconfigure:
1) Power down the computer and interfaces.

2) Remove DigiLink and Loop Sync/Word clock connections from all interfaces connected to HD cards #5 and higher.

3) Be sure to reconfigure Loop Sync and Word clock connections on the supported interfaces.

4) Start up your computer and launch Pro Tools. You may then use the 176.4 kHz or 192 kHz sample rates on your Pro Tools system.

What controller personality profile does the Yamaha Motiff 8 use for transport control within Pro Tools' peripherals, MIDI controllers option?
The Motiff 8 uses the CS-10, a legacy controller. For those using Pro Tools v6.4 or higher it may be necessary to download these legacy controller from our website.

www.digidesign.com/download/controllers

Once the controller file is downloaded, you must manually install into the following locations:

Mac OS X:
Mac HD > Applications > Digidesign > Pro Tools > Controllers.

Windows XP:
My Computer > Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Common Files > DAE > Controllers.

DAE Errors 9092, 9093, or 9094, 9129 on Windows XP systems with dual core processors.
These errors can be caused by problems with processor scheduling in dual core processors. The solution is to assign Pro Tools to run on a specific processor core.

To do this:

1. Launch Pro Tools, but do not create or open a session.

2. Right click on the Task Bar and select 'Task Manager'.

3. Click on the Processes tab, then right-click on ProToolsLE.exe and select 'Set Affinity' from the drop down menu.

4. Uncheck the box for CPU 0.

5. Click OK and close the Task Manager.

You will have to do this each time you launch Pro Tools unless you use and application like THG Task Assignment Tool.

More info on the THG Task Assignment Tool can be found here:

This has been seen on systems running Pro Tools v6.7 or later without Windows Service Pack 2 installed. Service Pack 2 is required to run Pro Tools v6.7 or higher.

Updating to Windows Service Pack 2 may help with this issue.

DAE error -1 when launching Pro Tools on Win XP. Digitest fails.
In one case, this turned out to be caused by a bad PCI slot in an HP XW8000. The HD Core would work when placed in the CPU, but not in the expansion chassis. Moving the expansion chassis host card from slot 4 to slot 5 in the CPU solved the problem.

Verify that this is disabled in the preferences of each partition.
