DAE error -6097 occurs and 002 goes offline briefly after DAE Errors -6084 or -6085 is thrown.
This behavior can occur if an incoming clock signal (such as a lightpipe ADAT connection) is adjusted up or down (faster or slower) beyond the 002's acceptable sample rate limits.

Buffer underrun or -6031 error while looping playback in Pro Tools 6.1
This is a known issue in Pro Tools 6.1 with AVoption|XL when looping short selections (i.e. 1 second). Try increasing the loop length.

If a SYNC I/O is connected, try installing DAE 6.1 Beta from the Beta/Bug Fix folder on your Pro Tools 6.1 install CD.

-6031 errors in Pro Tools 6.1 with SYNC I/O or AVoption XL.
Try using DAE 6.1cs1. The installer for this version of DAE is on the Pro Tools 6.1 Installer CD-ROM in Additional Files\Beta Software. This version of DAE leaves the RTAS engine off until an RTAS plug-in is instantiated. Thus, it is recommended that no RTAS plug-ins be used when trying to avoid -6031 errors. At the time of this writing, Digidesign is looking for a solution that will allow RTAS plug-ins to be used in this configuration.

S/PDIF Mirroring cannot effectively be disabled in Pro Tools LE 6.01 using the Digi 001. This setting can be changed but is not reflected in the I/O setup.
1. Without Pro Tools launched, try going to your Hard Drive>Users>Your User Name>Library >Preferences and trash the DAE Prefs, Digisetup.OSX, and Pro Tools LE Preferences.

2. Relaunch Pro Tools and disable S/PDIF Mirroring.

3. If the I/O Setup does not reflect the change try deleting your output paths and select Default.

4. If the I/O Setup still does not reflect the change, try quitting out of Pro Tools, relaunching and repeat step 3.

DAE error -7053.
In one case, it was due to an incompatible or corrupt plug-in in the DAE>Plug-ins folder. Removing the plug-in fixed the problem.

-9094 or crash when playing back in Pro Tools LE 6.0.1 with Mbox.

-9094 or crash when playing back in Pro Tools LE 6.0.1 with Mbox.
- Most likely, a restart of the computer will fix this error message if the error message appeared after the USB cable to Mbox was disconnected.
- In general, it's not a good idea to hot swap the USB cable on Mbox when Pro Tools is launched.
- If Pro Tools is launched and the USB cable to Mbox gets disconnected or user disconnects it on purpose, it's possible that Pro Tools will throw the error message -9094 or will crash. This will require a restart of the computer.
- Consequently, if hot swapping the USB cable connected to Mbox, is to be used as a troubleshooting technique (ie. no audio is playing out of Pro Tools or no audio signal is getting to Pro Tools during record), it would be advisable to quit out of Pro Tools (and possibly shut down the computer) first before hot swapping the USB cable connected to Mbox.
- Also note: Mbox must be connected to the computer for Pro Tools to launch, otherwise you will get the error message: Unable to Create DAE Deck.

When working in Pro Tools LE 6.0 for OS X, I get an error message: Pro Tools has unexpectedly quit. (Specifically for Mbox)
Here are some possible solutions to this error message:

1) Verify you are using a supported Mac Computer. Supported computer information can be found at http://www.digidesign.com/compato/

2) Make sure you are using a supported version of the OS. To check this: Apple Menu > About this Mac. (Mac OS 10.2.3, 10.2.4, 10.2.5, & 10.2.6 are supported, you can a download the update from http://www.apple.com/)

3) Verify how much memory is installed. There should be a minimum of 512 mb of RAM installed. To check this: Apple Menu > About this Mac.

4) Trash Preferences:
Mac Hard Drive > Users > users file folder > Library > Preferences. Drag to Trash: com.digidesign.protools.plist, DAE prefs.(the entire folder), Digisetup.OSX and any Pro Tools LE preferences files.

5) For all Mounted Hard drives trash the contents of the Digidesign Databases folder: Go to Mac Hard Drive (or the hard drive with your OSX installation)> Digidesign Database > Volume.ddb and possibly Cache.wfm

6) Trash Databases Folder (If present):
Mac Hard Drive > Library > Application Support > Digidesign > Databases > Trash Volumes folder. Empty trash. Restart.

7) Configure System Preferences:
System Preferences can be found on the Dock or in your Apple menu.
a) Open Classic > Start/Stop Tab. Uncheck > Start Classic when you log in. (To go from Classic System preference back to the System Preferences main window hold down the Apple/Command key and the letter L )
b) Open Energy Saver. Uncheck anything that allows the computer to go to sleep/shutdown/ power save etc. and set the timer bars to 'Never'... ( apple + L)
c)Open Date & Time. Verify that the date is correctly set
Go to the Network Time and check the box > Use a network time server.
d) Disable any Virus Protection Software.

8) Repair Permissions:
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Launch Disk Utility. In the left Column all your mounted Drives/Volumes will be listed. For each drive there will be 2 listings one that will be indented and one that is not. You want to select the Indented one for each drive (it will say something like MAC HD or what ever you named each Volume)
Then Click on the Information Tab. Verify that the drive has been formatted HFS or HFS +
Next, click on the First Aid Tab. Select Repair Permissions. Do this for ALLvolumes (Indented listings)
Restart you computer

9) If you have not already updated to Pro Tools Version 6.1.2 (for Jaguar versions 10.2.3 through 10.2.8) or Pro Tools 6.4 (for Panther version 10.3.2) Do so now by going to www.digidesign.com > Support > Downloads > Pro Tools LE 6.1.2 or 6.4

10) Unplug any other USB devices from the computer, then restart the computer before launching Pro Tools (this will ensure that the driver for the other USB device is not loaded upon startup.).

11) Multiple copies or installations of OSX on the same computer can cause conflicts. If you have other copies (created by copying the System and associated files to another drive) or installations of OSX, removing them may alleviate some 'Unexpectedly Quit' errors.

12) Open Login items in your System Preferences Panel and disable all Login items. Restart your computer before launching Pro Tools.

13) Unplug the Mbox from the USB cable, restart the computer and once you're up to the desktop, plug the USB cable back into the Mbox and launch Pro Tools.

DAE error -1501, "Digidesign mach OS services framework failed. -1501", "could not complete your request because - midifilter" errors after installing Pro Tools 6.1, then reverting back to 6.0 on OS X.
These errors are usually indicators of a bad 6.1 installation, or perhaps that there are mixed components (6.0 and 6.1) on the system.

Try doing a complete uninstall and reinstall.

DAE error -6042 when using and Aurora Fuse or Igniter capture card.

DAE error -6042 when using and Aurora Fuse or Igniter capture card.
Here are some things you can try to reduce -6042 errors when using an Aurora Fuse card with Pro Tools:

- 320x240, less than 1meg/sec data transfer rate.
- Use the Aurora codec.
- Remember that a session already on the 6042 edge can be pushed over the edge when a QT movie is played.... you are adding to the pci traffic with the movie.
- Set the video track to view by block instead of picon track to avoid screen flickering when you drop your insertion point down, or scroll the edit window.
- Make sure the aurora drivers are set to display the movie on the NTSC/PAL monitor only and not on the floating QT movie window.
- Position the floating QT window at the bottom of your screen so that only the top bar is visible... eliminates making the computer display that window's graphics.

For the Aurora Igniter Card:

In Control Panels>Ignition>Playback, set Preview to Video only, not both. Also, capturing video at 720X486 with a capture rate of 1500k per second will cause problems. Try capturing at a lower rate, like 720X486 at 500k per second.

DAE error -7053 when using the Native Instruments Pro-52 software synth in Pro Tools LE 5.3.2 (Win XP).
This error message is related to the -9006 error message which is caused by having 1 gig, or more, of RAM in the computer. The solution is the same as solving the -9006 error message: "DAE was unable to obtain a disk buffer of the requested size an additional 2680k of memory is needed..-9006.

Resolve this error by setting the Paging File Initial Size to 1065 or lower in Virtual Memory. 1024 is the recommended value.

Here's how:
Start Menu > right-click on My Computer and choose properties > Advanced Tab> Click Settings in the Performance area > Advanced Tab > Click Change in the Virtual Memory area. Set the Paging File Initial file to 1024. Click Set. Restart.

This error will only occur on machines with 1 gig, or more, of RAM installed. If setting the Paging File Initial Size to 1024 does not resolve the error, try choosing the setting for "No paging file" and click "Set". Restart.
This problem has little or no occurrence in Pro Tools 6.1., when only running Pro Tools.
