DAE error -9735 occurs when trying to play a file placed past the 810 minute mark on a track in Pro Tools 6.0.
This error will come up when you reach the maximum session length for the sample rate being used in the session. At 48k the max session length is about 12 hours, at 96K about 6 hours and at 192k, 3 hours is the maximum session length.

Why does opening the Import Audio dialog take so long in Pro Tools 5.x?
It's likely that the problem is due to memory fragmentation in the OS. Especially if you don't have a lot of RAM and have had the machine running (without a reboot) for a long time. When opening the Import Audio Dialog, Pro Tools needs to go into a different "mode" than when running with the regular DAE deck. Transitioning between these modes allocates and releases large amounts of memory. In the process, memory can get fragmented and, when Pro Tools attempts to return to "DAE" mode, the OS can take a while (or even fail) to recover the original memory.

So, how can I get around this?
1. Add more RAM to your system and allocate more to DAE by increasing the preferred size. This will make it easier for the Pro Tools to allocate memory when returning to DAE mode -- especially when running decks with large (>64) voice counts.
2. Reboot. OS9 doesn't always do a good job of recovering from fragmented memory situations and a reboot is sometimes the easiest cure for the problem.

This shouldn't be a problem on Windows or OSX because we do some pre-allocation/caching that holds-on to memory when going to the Import Audio dialog.

It has also been reported by several users that having Waves plug-ins installed will make this operation considerably slower. [Page View]

"Not enough memory available to run DAE" or "Pro Tools requires XXXXXk, but there is only 0k available" at Pro Tools launch.
Check Pro Tools minimum and preferred memory settings.

Check total installed RAM.

In one case, this was resolved by reinstalling the operating system.

Getting type 2 or type 3 error message after installing Waves Gold Bundle after having installed the Waves Renaissance Collection that comes on Digi 002 pack CD.
Solution is to completely uninstall all elements of Waves plug-ins. Drag to the trash all elements and restart computer before launching Pro Tools LE.

Where to find all elements of Waves plug-ins:
1) Mac Hard Drive. Drag all Waves folders to trash.
2) Mac Hard Drive > System Folder > Extensions folder. Drag WaveLib extension to trash.
3) Mac Hard Drive > System Folder > DAE folder > Plug-ins folder. Drag all Waveshells to trash.
4) Mac Hard Drive > System Folder > Preferences folder. Drag Waves preference to trash.
5) Empty trash. Restart computer.
6) Launch Pro Tools LE. All should be fine.
7) Reinstall the Waves Renaissance Collection plug-ins, located on the "Digi 002 pack version 1.0." installation CD.

I'm trying to delete a folder from on of my catalogs with DigiBase Pro, but only the files that it contains are being deleted.
Because additional files can be added to a folder at the finder level after a catalog is created, Pro Tools will only delete the actual files that it has cataloged within a given folder. This is to avoid deleting files that don't belong to that catalog.

Cataloging is a TDM only feature in DigiBase Pro.

I'm using DigiBase Pro in Pro Tools 6.0 TDM to search for a file that is exactly 2:00 long. I know such a file resides on my hard drive, but its not being found.
Try searching for a file that's greater than 1:59. Due to sample rounding, the actual length of a 2:00 file can be slightly shorter or longer in its sample count and thus searching by a files exact length is difficult.

After updating from Access Virus to Access Virus Indigo, my old presets are no longer available.
This is a known issue with the Virus Indigo CD installer. When updating from Access Virus to Access Virus Indigo the existing "Virus" presets folder is mistakenly moved to the trash.

Before running the Indigo installer please move your "Virus" presets folder from System Folder/DAE Folder/Plug-In Settings to the desktop. When the installer has finished you may move the "Virus" presets folder into System Folder/DAE Folder/Plug-In Settings/Indigo to make older settings accessible to the new Indigo plug-in.

Please note that while the CD installer exhibits this problem it has already been fixed on the Indigo web installer available at www.digidesign.com.

This warning does not affect users who don't own Access Virus and thus will perform a fresh install (not an update).

This affects the Inidigo install CD part # 952010359-00 Rev A [Page View]
