DAE error -6086 during playback of a Pro Tools LE session on a Digi 002 in Windows XP.
This error message can be caused by not selecting "download" when prompted to update the firmware of the Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack.

You must click "download" to update the firmware when prompted.

note: This is NOT a download from the internet, it's actually a download from software already installed on the computer to the Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack. [Page View]

The 1394 light is blinking on my 002 when working in Pro Tools. Can't start playback.
Reset Open Firmware - this tends to help with FW and USB connection issues.

Restart the computer, and at the boot chime, press and hold Command (Apple Key) + Option + O (the letter, not a zero) + F. When you see a kind of gray screen with the words "Welcome to Open Firmware" in the upper left corner, release the keys.

At the prompt, type in the following - lowercase with no spaces, and no quotes: "reset-all" then hit Return.

The machine will automatically reboot.

I don't hear the audio from Reason on my audio track in Pro Tools (LE or TDM). I am using ReWire and instantiating the Reson/ReWire plug-in on the audio track.
If you record enable the audio track that has the Reason plug-in instantiated, it will bypass the Reason plug-in.

On Pro Tools LE, use an aux track. [Page View]

I have a Digi 002 and/or Digi 002 Rack and I am getting -6085 errors when recording to a Firewire hard drive with a new G4 (FW 800) Macintosh.
This is a known issue if using any of the 3 built-in Firewire ports on the FW 800 Macintosh. To record, either:

a) Use a supported internal IDE/ATA hard drive

b) Use a FW card. The supported Firewire cards are as follows:

--ADS Pyro 1394
--Swann Mac FireWire Card
--Adaptec FireConnect

The Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack should still be connected to the FW400 ports on a G4 (FW800) Macintosh. [Page View]

Can't mirror a master fader's output to S/PDIF on Digi 002.

Can't mirror a master fader's output to S/PDIF on Digi 002.
Workaround: Create a second Master Fader Track and route this to S/PDIF.

Also, Aux Tracks allow you to mirror. [Page View]

Powering up the 002 while booting from a FireWire drive will send Mac G4 into Open Firmware mode. This situation is recoverable; cycling the drives and cold booting should recover the system.
To reproduce:
1) Connect 002 to CPU FireWire port.
2) Boot G4 off an external FireWire drive.
3) Just as boot process starts, while monitor is still dark, power 002 on.
Result: Mac enters Open Firmware mode.

Note: typing "mac-boot" at prompt (as suggested onscreen) may not successfully boot the system. Power cycling external drives and cold booting (power down, then power up) the computer should solve this. [Page View]
