Fixed: Track Color Coding Saturation Was Not Adjustable (Item #94474)
- Functionality is now the same as in Pro Tools 7.3.x
Fixed: RTAS Processor Selection in Playback Engine Dialog Was Greyed Out With Multi-Processor AMD-based Computers (Item #99545)
- Note that this condition should only occur when HyperThreading is enabled on Intel-based computers
Fixed: Opening a Session with an RTAS Version of Dynamics III Could Result in a Burst of Noise (Item #99562)
- This problem was intermittent
Fixed: Quantizing Grouped Elastic Audio Tracks Produces Some Inaccurate Transient Placement (Item #100013)
- Transients could be placed either before or after grid lines
Fixed: User Can Only Promote the Confidence of an Event Marker by Moving it (Item #100378)
- Clicking on any Event marker will now raise its internal confidence rating to 100%, thus preventing the marker from being removed when the Event Sensitivity setting is lowered within the Elastic Properties window
Fixed: Using Render or Commit With "Rhythmic" Algorithm Can Produce Artifacts at End of Files (Item #100420)
- This would usually occur when using extreme amounts of stretching
Fixed: Elastic Time Warp Markers Could Move After Quantizing (Item #100423)
- Quantizing a selected area could cause markers outside that selection to move
Fixed: Errors Resulting From Importing Certain Files Using Soundminer (Item #100028)
- File names using an ellipsis (...) would cause the error, "Unable to create a new audio file on drive "xxx" for track "xxx" because I/O error (-36)."
Fixed: Pro Tools May Crash While Setting Up MIDI When Administrator Account Name Contains a Non-English OS and/or a Non-ASCII Character (Item #100142)
- Known to have occurred with Norwegian, Czech, Japanese and Korean Operating Systems

Installation Instructions

Special Driver Information for Windows Vista
Digidesign’s standard Command|8 driver does not function properly on Vista machines. Users running Pro Tools 7.4 with a Command|8 on a Vista operating system must use a special Command|8 Vista installer. This installer is available for download below or on the Pro Tools 7.4 for Windows DVDs in the directory "Additional Files\Unsupported Software\Command8 Vista Installer".
To install the drivers for the Command|8 correctly on Vista, please follow these steps:
- Install Pro Tools and restart your computer.
- Find the correct Vista installer from your 7.4 installation DVD or the download below, then run the installer.
- Restart your computer and begin using Pro Tools.

Command|8 Control Surface Installation with Pro Tools 7
The drivers for the Command|8 control surface are installed during Pro Tools installation, either from the Pro Tools 7 Web Installer or the Pro Tools 7 CD:
1. Run the Pro Tools 7 HD, LE, or M-Powered installer application:
- On Windows XP, put a check mark in the box next to "Command 8 Controller and Driver"
- On Mac OS X, the Command|8 software is installed by default when installing the Pro Tools application software
2. Follow the prompts in the installer application
Windows XP Installation Additional Details
In addition to Pro Tools 7.0, Windows XP users must also select the Command|8 Controller and Driver option when installing their software to ensure that the proper Windows components are included. First, connect and turn on your Command|8. When the ‘Found New Hardware’ dialog appears, do not cancel it. Continue by launching the Pro Tools Setup executable and checking the appropriate components, including Command|8. When complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer and then you may begin using Pro Tools with Command|8.
The Command|8 software installer is also available separately on the Pro Tools 7 CD in the following location:
- \Controllers\Command8 Installer\Command8 Setup.exe

Windows XP
Installing the Command|8 software also installs the following files to your \Program Files\Digidesign\Command8 directory:
