Media Station|PT 2.7 and Video Satellite Option

Integrate your Pro Tools® editing prowess into the full Avid® video workflow with the utmost efficiency. Media Station|PT™ 2.7 with the Video Satellite Option lets you play back any Avid video sequence in perfect sync with Pro Tools installed on a separate system, eliminating time-consuming video exports and preserving full audio processing power in Pro Tools. Media Station|PT 2.7 also provides full support for Avid Unity™ shared storage systems and Avid Interplay™, and even serves as a standalone video capture, export, and layback station.

Media Station|PT as a Standalone Workstation
Media Station|PT is based on the same Media Composer® software used by the world’s leading video editors, and enables you to open and play any sequence created in Media Composer. You can even transcode HD video — including DNxHD — to standard definition (SD) or, in time-critical situations, down-convert to SD in real time. Media Station|PT 2.7 also allows you to export Avid sequences to Pro Tools, lay back your final audio and video to tape, or deliver the results to Avid Interplay, Avid Unity ISIS™, and Avid Unity MediaNetwork shared storage systems. It provides full integration with Avid Interplay, and streams video directly from Avid shared storage, eliminating the need to move or duplicate media.

Media Station|PT supports a variety of Avid SD video peripherals, including Avid Mojo® SDI and Avid Mojo® on Mac or Windows, and AVoption|V10™ on Windows. These peripherals offer composite, component, and S-Video playback of Avid SD video. Avid Mojo SDI and AVoption|V10 also support up to 8 tracks of 24-bit audio and SD video via SDI. In addition, Media Station|PT supports capture and layback of DVCPro HD or HDV video via your computer’s FireWire (IEEE 1394) port.

Media Station|PT with the Video Satellite Option
When speed and efficiency are of the utmost importance, Media Station|PT with the Video Satellite Option delivers, enabling you to keep your Pro Tools audio and Avid video processing on separate computers but tightly synced. Play any Avid sequence in perfect sync with your Pro Tools session while enjoying up to 192 tracks of playback and full plug-in processing power on Pro Tools|HD® — all without time-consuming video renders, transcodes, or exports.

In Video Satellite mode, Pro Tools controls the Media Station|PT system through a proprietary Ethernet protocol that offers rock-solid sync, faster-than-9-pin lockup, and incredibly responsive scrub and shuttle control. It also allows one Media Station|PT system to be easily shared among alternate Pro Tools|HD systems.

Media Station|PT 2.7 and the Video Satellite Option will be available soon from authorized Digidesign dealers worldwide.
