Session Playback Control in the Workspace Browser

DigiNews Tips & Tricks: January 2008

One of the many great new features in Pro Tools 7.4 is the ability to start and stop playback of your session directly from the Workspace Browser.

There are two different keyboard shortcuts that allow you to control session playback
  • When previewing loops and samples in the workspace browser the zero key will start and stop playback in the Edit Window.
  • The spacebar will start and stop playback of selected samples in the Workspace Browser.

Using these keyboard shortcuts makes it easy to preview loops and samples alongside your entire session, without ever needing to leave the Workspace Browser.

This improvement to the Workspace Browser is just one of the many features in Pro Tools 7.4 designed to speed up your workflow so that you can focus on creating music. For more on Pro Tools 7.4 software's new features, including video demonstrations, visit the Pro Tools 7.4 software section.
