Documentation
Most of the Pro Tools 7.4.x documentation is NOT INCLUDED with the Pro Tools 7.4.2 web installers, in order to greatly reduce the overall size of those downloads. If you are installing Pro Tools 7.4.2 over a previous installation of 7.4, then you may already have all of the 7.4.x documents other than the Pro Tools 7.4.2 Read Me. If you are installing Pro Tools 7.4.2 without a previous installation of Pro Tools 7.4, then you will need to also download and run the Pro Tools 7.4.x Documentation Installer for your system:
Known Issues
July 18 Expiration Alert
If you downloaded Pro Tools 7.4.2 from the Digidesign website before June 23rd, or you are still using the 7.4.2pr (Pre-release) version, please see the following Answerbase article:
When launching Pro Tools 7.4.2, I get a dialog about running a pre-release version and Pro Tools will not launch.
SCSI
There is a potential interoperability issue when using ATTO SCSI Host Adapters with Pro Tools 7.4.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.3 that can cause screen redraw issues. However, this issue cannot be reproduced after updating to Mac OS X 10.5.4. Although SCSI is compatible, Digidesign has not fully qualified maximum track performance, and therefore cannot guarantee SCSI performance with Mac OS X 10.5.4.
For information on other known issues, please see the Pro Tools 7.4.2 Read Me documents available below.
