Web Based Digital Music Library – Access from Anywhere, Anytime
(February 13, 2007) — Creative Network Design (CND), leading developer of audio asset management systems, today announced the availability of the new NetMixWeb M1 software bundle enabling studios to catalog their entire digital music library in the NetMix Server database.
Multiple users can simultaneously search, audition, download and manage music tracks from any PC or Mac using a Web browser. The powerful Boolean full-text and ‘drill down’ search enables users to rapidly search their entire music library. The music player is embedded in the Web browser and displays detailed track information CD artwork. Selected music tracks are downloaded directly to the Pro Tools or Avid workstation and added to the bin.
Powerful Project Management allows users to manage music tracks in projects and playlists. Projects are easily shared between multiple users. Secure remote access to the NetMix Server is possible from anywhere in the world, allowing producers to search music and create projects at any time – even from an Internet-capable mobile phone.
“NetMixWeb has a very intuitive user interface that works great for producers to find the best music track quickly and save it in a project. Editors working with Pro Tools or Avid might prefer using the NetMix Pro application with its clip editor, ReWire support and Bin2Bin transfer to Avid. Since NetMixWeb and NetMix Pro access the same server, you can use both solutions parallel,” said Markus Schmidt, CEO of Creative Network Design. ”The web interface makes the music available anywhere, anytime – no software installation necessary. Just open your Internet browser and dig into your digital music library.”
NetMix Server can catalog any audio file format (MP3, AAC, BWF and more) and automatically extracts rich metadata from music files including the ID3v2 tag and the bext chunk. In addition, production music libraries including Killer Tracks, Firstcom, Sonoton, APM and many more now provide enhanced rich metadata support for NetMixWeb system.
The system is scalable up to 100+ users and can easily manage hundreds of thousands of music tracks. The software bundle also includes a NetMix Pro application license to perform administrative functions, edit metadata and more.
NetMixWeb M1 is designed for studios, who want to increase efficiency using a centralized and lightning fast networked search system for digital music libraries with access anywhere, anytime. NetMixWeb M1 is fully compatible with CND's cross-platform flagship software NetMix Pro and MetaPlug, the archiving Plug-in for Pro Tools.
