D-Show 2.6 Software
The latest D-Show® software provides support for the Digidesign® ANO A-Net® Output Card, and offers many new features and enhancements for all VENUE users. A unique system information export tool dramatically simplifies the system configuration and specification process for engineers and system providers, while faster plug-in load times, improved workflows, and expanded signal routing possibilities benefit all users. And the software continues to offer forwards and backwards compatibility, meaning you can load a D-Show 2.6 show file on any VENUE system running D-Show 2.0 or later software — no need to rebuild entire shows.
ANO A-Net Output Card Support
The ANO A-Net Output Card is an option for the VENUE Stage Rack that enables you to connect Aviom® Pro16™ Series personal mixers and devices, including the popular Aviom A-16II Personal Mixer, directly to a VENUE system, providing a simple and cost-effective artist-driven monitoring solution. D-Show 2.6 software provides support for the card, and offers unprecedented integration with Aviom mixers, including a unique Auto Link feature that automatically links channel pairs across all personal mixers when you patch a stereo source in the D-Show software Patchbay — no more fussing with a screwdriver and tiny DIP switches.
Safe from Banking Mode Keeps Key Channels at Hand
The “Safe from Banking” feature allows you to affix any input channel or effects return to its current position on the top layer of the console — even when the input fader bank is changed to a different layer of inputs. This ensures that you always have access to the most important channels — such as the lead singer or a special effect — as you make changes to channels on other fader banks.
Configure Console Layouts with Insert Blank Input Strips
The new Insert Blank Input Strips feature allows you to insert (or remove) blank input channels to custom configure your console layout without requiring additional DSP. You can add any number of strips — up to a total of 96 input strips, including your audio channels — to create logical divisions, and give yourself more physical space between channels to move outer channels closer to the center of the console, or to reserve space for bank-safe channels. The software also automatically inserts a blank strip to preserve your layout any time you employ the “Make Stereo” command.
Export System Information for Easy System Specifications
The new system information export feature makes it easy to compile VENUE system specifications and configurations for a systems provider or tech rider. D-Show 2.6 software allows you to quickly export complete hardware, software, and plug-in configuration information as an HTML text file directly from the console, or using standalone D-Show software. Then simply email the file to the systems provider for viewing in any web browser, or copy and paste the information into a detailed tech rider.
Expanded Signal Routing
With D-Show 2.6, you can now route Variable Groups to the Mains busses and pan them (left, right, or center/mono), giving you more flexibility with output bus configurations. You can configure the Variable Groups as combinations of mono and stereo-linked busses, and you can insert mono and stereo plug-ins on these busses. You can also now route the built-in oscillator to any input channel, allowing you to test signal without an additional signal generator or convoluted routing, simplifying troubleshooting and general system set-up.
User-Requested Improvements
Digidesign values our users’ input and suggestions. Based on VENUE user feedback, we’ve made the following improvements in D-Show 2.6:
Channels under control of a mute group or VCA can now be temporarily unmuted without having to unmute the mute group or VCA (while doing a line check, for example)
Solo Level control now affects PFL (Pre-Fader Listen) signals only, allowing you to trim PFL to AFL (After-Fader Listen)
Performance Improvements
D-Show 2.6 software improves the load times for multi-shell (DSP-sharing) plug-ins, providing up to 3-times faster instantiation speeds. And built-in graphic EQ (GEQ) settings now remain active and processing audio during a plug-in rack reset.
