Music Production Toolkit (Original Version)



The following optional software and RTAS and/or AudioSuite format plug-ins are compatible with Pro Tools LE 8.0. These plug-ins and software require previous purchase and your iLok authorization for each plug-in and software component (MP3 Option requires your MP3 Option serial authorization code or MP3 Option iLok license). Demo versions of Music Production Toolkit 2 are not available.

Music Production Toolkit for Pro Tools LE or Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0
Pro Tools LE 8.0 or Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 must already be installed on your system to use the optional software installer. The "Music Production Toolkit v7.4.2 (Mac OS X Leopard) for Pro Tools 7.4.2 or 8.0" and "Music Production Toolkit v7.4 (Windows XP - Vista) for Pro Tools 7.4 or 8.0" downloadable installers available at the bottom of this page will install the following:
  • Music Production Toolkit enabler file, in your Pro Tools application folder: MusicProductionToolkit.bundle (Mac) or MusicProductionToolkit.dll (Windows). The iLok license is named "Music Production Toolkit".
  • DINR LE (plug-in is named "Broadband Noise Reduction LE", iLok license is named "BNR LE")
  • Hybrid
  • MP3 Export option
  • Smack! LE
  • SoundReplacer

TL Space Native Plug-in
TL Space Native Edition is also included in the Music Production Toolkit, but is not part of the installers on this page, and must be downloaded separately:
The TL Space Impulse Response (IR) Library files can be installed from your TL Space CD. Both additional IRs and the core set of IRs (included with the TL Space installation CD) are available here:

After installation of the original Music Production Toolkit v7.4.x, you can update these plug-ins to the latest version for Pro Tools 8 by downloading the individual installers for each:


Music Production Toolkit 2



Upgrades from the original Music Production Toolkit to Music Production Toolkit 2 are available from the online DigiStore. To purchase the upgrade, go to the Music Production Toolkit 2 product section on the main website, click on the "Buy Now" button, and choose "MPTK to MPTK 2 Upgrade Download" from the pull-down list on the DigiStore.

If you have purchased the upgrade from Music Production Toolkit to Music Production Toolkit 2 from the online DigiStore, you can download the installer for Mac or Windows from your My Digi account on the Digidesign website.

The downloadable installers for Music Production Toolkit 2 are approximately 3 GB each for Mac or Windows. Due to space limitations, the installers are NOT on the Pro Tools LE or M-Powered version 8 installation DVDs.

Installation Notes for MPTK Owners Upgrading to MPTK2:
Music Production Toolkit 2 does not include DINR LE or SoundReplacer from the original Music Production Toolkit. Instead, it includes Eleven LE and Structure LE. If you have upgraded from the original Music Production Toolkit to Music Production Toolkit 2, your iLok licenses for DINR LE and SoundReplacer from the original MPTK are still good. Just install these 2 plug-ins from the downloads section of each plug-in:

The iLok license for the enabler file for the original Music Production Toolkit and the new Music Production Toolkit 2 is named "Music Production Toolkit".

Installing Music Production Toolkit 2



A Digidesign-qualified version of Pro Tools LE or Pro Tools M-Powered must be installed before you install your toolkit and authorize its software components.

To install Music Production Toolkit 2:

1. Do one of the following:
  • Download the installer for your computer platform from the Digidesign website ( www.digidesign.com/mydigi ). After downloading, make sure the installer is uncompressed (.zip on Windows or .dmg on Mac).
    – or –
  • Insert the Installer disc for your version of Pro Tools into your computer.*
*This part of the Music Production Toolkit 2 Guide v8.0 is not correct. Due to space limitations, the installers are NOT on the Pro Tools LE or M-Powered version 8 installation DVDs.

2. Locate and double-click the Music Production Toolkit 2 installer icon.
  • Install Music Production Toolkit 2 (Mac)
    – or –
  • Music Production Toolkit 2 Setup.exe (Windows)

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

4. When installation is complete, click Quit (Mac) and Finish (Windows).

The installer process installs Music Production Toolkit 2 features, plus the following additional software:

5. Each software component (including Music Production Toolkit 2) must be authorized before it can be used. See “Authorizing Music Production Toolkit 2 Option” on page 6 of the Music Production Toolkit 2 Guide.

If you launch Pro Tools without authorizing a Music Production Toolkit 2 software component, you will be prompted to authorize the component during the launch.
