Where can I find my Authorization Code (Serial Number) for Pro Tools LE?


The following information is about the Pro Tools LE authorization code, sometimes referred to as the Pro Tools LE serial number, and how you can find your authorization code if you own Pro Tools LE.
  • Pro Tools LE 6.0 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0600"
  • Pro Tools LE 6.4 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0640"
  • Pro Tools LE 6.7 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0670"
  • Pro Tools LE 7.0 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0700"
  • Pro Tools LE 7.1 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0710"
  • Pro Tools LE 7.3 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0730"
  • Pro Tools LE 7.4 requires an authorization code begining with "DIGI0740"
LE Authorization codes...
  • consist of 3 groups of 8 characters
  • have a single space between each group of characters
  • are case sensitive
  • start with "DIGI" (all upper case)
  • use lower case for other letters
  • use “0” (number) and not "O" (letter)

If You Received Pro Tools LE from an Authorized Digidesign Dealer



Your Pro Tools LE authorization code can be found in one of the following locations:
  • Inside the front cover of your Getting Started Guide (version 7.3 or 7.4) if your Pro Tools LE core hardware system already included Pro Tools LE 7.3 or 7.4*
  • Inside the front cover of your Upgrading to Pro Tools 7.0 booklet included with Pro Tools LE 7.0 upgrades purchased from a Digidesign dealer
  • Inside the front cover of your Getting Started Guide (version 7.0) if your Pro Tools LE core hardware system already included Pro Tools LE 7.1* or earlier.
*The Pro Tools LE authorization code included with the Mbox 2 Mini is on the back of the Pro Tools LE installation DVD sleeve under "PT LE CODE FOR MAC OS X / WIN XP".

Mbox 2 Family Pro Tools LE 7.3 Authorization Code Error Alert
Digidesign has discovered that some shipments of the Mbox 2 Family products contained Pro Tools LE 7.3 updates with incorrect authorization codes due to a printing error. If you purchased a new Mbox 2 Pro, Mbox 2, or Mbox 2 Mini after March 1, 2007 that included a Pro Tools LE 7.3 authorization code that is not accepted after installing Pro Tools LE 7.3, please use the following form to retrieve your correct authorization code:

If You Received Pro Tools LE 7 from the Digidesign Website



Here are the instructions for returning to your Pro Tools LE 7 authorization code and downloads if you received your upgrade to Pro Tools LE 7 from the Digidesign website:

Upgrades Purchased from the DigiStore

If you purchased a downloadable Pro Tools upgrade from the DigiStore:
  • Go to the DigiStore
  • Click on the "your account" link at the top. You should see your recent orders after you are logged in.
  • Click on "View Order Details/Tracking Number" next to your Pro Tools upgrade order.
  • Your upgrade downloads will be available on the order details page, along with your authorization code if you purchased a Pro Tools LE upgrade (this is also where you would find your authorization for MP3 Option if you purchased that product).
Pro Tools "No Cost" Upgrades
  • Login to your My Digi account.
  • If you have previously completed the activation process for a Pro Tools "No Cost" Upgrade, your downloads will be available after you login under "Registered Downloads", along with your Pro Tools LE authorization code if you received a Pro Tools LE "No Cost" upgrade. At the bottom of your My Digi page after login, you will see "Registered Downloads".
  • Currently, only downloads from "No Cost" upgrades are available from the Registered Downloads section. If you have not received any "No Cost" notifications, and have not activated a "No Cost" upgrade, no downloads will appear in this section.
  • Only your 3 most recent "No Cost" downloads will be displayed on the My Digi home page.
  • If you have more than 3, click on "View All Downloads" to see your entire "No Cost" downloads history.

Login & Download Help



Many downloads on the Digidesign website require that you have a general website Account Profile, which is your "My Digi" account. Your account profile is also used for the DigiStore. The "My Digi" general website account profile is currently a separate process from the Product Registration and Digi User Conference registration process.
  • To create a My Digi account profile:
    • Go to the My Digi Home section.
    • Click on the Create Profile link.
    • Enter your email address and whatever password you choose.
  • You may already have an account profile for the Digidesign website. If you think that may be the case, click on the "Login" button and enter your email and password.
  • Make sure you have selected your location in the Region & Language Selector
  • If you do not remember your password, click on the "Forgot your password?" button.
    • Please Note: If no account exists yet with the email address you enter, you will not receive a password reminder.
    • In that case, try creating a new account profile with your current email address.
  • Your My Digi account is also used for the DigiStore login.
