VENUE D-Show 2.8.1 Software Update for SC48

VENUE D-Show 2.8.1 Software Update for SC48

ONLY For Digidesign VENUE SC48 Systems Running D-Show 2.8 Software
June 25, 2009

What's New in D-Show 2.8.1 Software?

Cue on Mains Fader
For monitor mix engineers on SC48, the new Cue on Mains Fader feature provides fast access to the monitor (cue) bus using the Mains fader, eliminating the need to reach for a rotary encoder.

D-Show software temporarily assigns the Mains fader to control the monitor level (the actual Mains level is unaffected), allowing you to simply ride the Mains fader to control the send level to your in-ear monitors and/or listening wedge. Simply select this feature checkbox in D-Show software OPTIONS > BUSSES page, or use the Events List to program any function button or footswitch to enable it.

With the VENUE SC48 console, you can now access the Monitoring level control using one of the output encoders, or assign it to the Mains fader.

Enhanced Snapshot Crossfade
D-Show 2.8.1 software adds Channel Pan to the snapshot crossfade, allowing you to create special panning effects in your mix.

Plug-in Target Follows Channel Control
When viewing the Plug-Ins page of the D-Show software and a plug-in is targeted to the Channel Control section of SC48, the plug-in is automatically selected and shown on-screen. The on-screen plug-ins use different outline colors to indicate plug-in / Channel Control status.

Cancelling VCA/Group Show Members
VCA and Mute Group Show Members modes can be cancelled by pressing the flashing Cancel button.

D-Show 2.6.3 Console Software Update

D-Show 2.6.3 Console Software Update

January 29, 2008 — D-Show 2.6.3 Update Read Me

For Digidesign VENUE Systems Including D-Show® and D-Show Profile

D-Show 2.6.3 addresses issues discovered after the release of D-Show 2.6. VENUE systems running any version of D-Show 2.6 software can be updated using the D-Show 2.6.3 update. This update cannot be applied directly to a system running D-Show software 2.5.x and lowere.

Who Should Use D-Show Console Software Version 2.6.3

This update is recommended for all D-Show 2.6 console software users and contains fixes in the following areas:
  • Bank Safe status
  • FX Returns and snapshots
Plus fixes from D-Show 2.6.1 and 2.6.2 in these areas:
  • Hardware monitoring
  • Bank Safe metering
  • Input Channel gain settings

What's Fixed in D-Show 2.6.3?

Fixed: Bank Safe is Not Properly Restored when Powering Up a D-Show Profile (Item #100677)
  • In some cases in which channels were Bank Safe’d just prior to powering down a D-Show Profile, Bank Safe status for those channels could be lost the next time the system was powered up.
Fixed: FX Returns Patching Cannot be Automated via Snapshots (Item #100671)
  • In D-Show 2.6, FX Return patching changes were not stored properly in snapshots. As a result, snapshots that included patching changes for FX Return Input, Direct and Hardware Insert assignments would not recall correctly.

Fixes Included from D-Show 2.6.2

Fixed: False Temperature Warning Displayed When Powering Up FOH Rack (Item #89822)
  • With D-Show 2.6 and higher, you may have experienced a false temperature warning when powering up your FOH Rack.
Fixed: Metering of Bank Safe'd Strip Not Working Properly on Sidecars After Restart (Item #100038)
  • On a D-Show Main with one or more attached sidecars, metering values for Bank Safe'd channels on sidecars did not always show the right signal if the strip was Bank Safe'd at startup. When moving between input fader banks, metering values for Bank Safe'd channels may have not stayed on the top layer with the rest of the safe'd channels' data.

Fixes Included from D-Show 2.6.1

Fixed: Input Channel Pad, 48V, and Input Gain Settings Not Converted Correctly when Loading a Show File Created Using a Previous Version of D-Show Software (Item #98725)
  • Loading a Show file created using D-Show 2.5.x or lower resulted in the Pad and 48V settings being offset by two channels when the Show file was converted to version 2.6. In addition, the input gain settings for channels patched to the FOH Rack or Pro Tools assignable I/O were also shifted by one channel upon conversion.

Creating VENUE Plug-In Installation CDs or USB Key Disks
To install a plug-in from a CD image onto your VENUE system, you must first burn the installer to a CD or copy the installer to a USB key disk.

The CD or USB key disk can then be inserted into your VENUE system to install the plug-in.

To burn or copy the Plug-in Installer to a CD or USB key disk:

1. Download the plug-ins CD image file.
2. Unzip the file.
3. In the plug-in’s CD image folder, locate the TDM Plug-Ins folder.
4. Burn the TDM Plug-Ins folder to the root level of a CD or USB key disk.

If the TDM Plug-Ins folder is not on the root level of the CD (or USB key disk), the VENUE system will not be able to install the plug-in.

A plug-in’s CD Image folder may also include a User Guide, Read Me, and manual Setup.exe installer. User Guide and Read Me PDF files must be viewed on a system other than VENUE that supports Adobe Acrobat Reader.
